Description:
Grow is a simple game. You drag the various icons on the left and right onto the planet. As each icon is allowed to grow it develops until it has evolved completely. See more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grow

Setting up
Make sure that each pair has a pen, a piece of paper and a computer.
Introduce the vocabulary by asking if the word you say is the first on the left, third on the right etc etc. If they don’t know the item then you can describe it. E.g. If you open a watch you can see lots of little ones of these.
You split the class into two teams and tell them that level 4 for each icon is the maximum they can develop into.

How to play
In random order ask where the items below are:

The ball

1st on the left

The cube

The 1st on the right

The cone

2nd on the left

The hole

The 2nd on the right

The sheet of paper

3rd on the left

The tube

The 3rd on the right

The activity can now be done in two ways
A 1) connect the sentences on the left with those on the right OR
2) fill in the gaps.
Each team reads the sentences and divides the work between each member of the team. The first team to complete the sentences in the correct way or to your satisfaction wins.

B Individually or in pairs, students write out their own conditional sentences in answer to the questions.

If the cone grows up
